Add a bit of depth to your conversation by using markdown in Impraise.

Markdown can be used in the:

  • Review and Ask for feedback form (Context only)
  • Goals description
  • Review response (Comment box)
  • Praise and Tip, Give feedback on a skill (Comment box)

Emphasis

Italicize a comment by placing the text between an *asterisks* or _underscores_.

Bold a comment by placing the text between double **asterisks** or __underscores__.

Combine bold and italics by using both asterisks and underscores. Such as **_Hello_**.

Strike through a comment or text, place two ~~tildes~~ on each side of the text.

For example:

  1. *text in italics* or _text in italics_
  2. **text in bold** or __text in bold__
  3. **_text in bold and italics combined_**
  4. ~~text with a strikethrough~~

Note: Strike through and the combination of bold and italics may appear differently on the mobile app.

Hyperlinks

An inline-style link

In [brackets] type out the text that will be linked. Then, in (round brackets) type in the link itself.

For example: Google

In [brackets] type out the text that will be linked. Then, in (round brackets) type in the link itself, but this time put the title in "quotation marks".

For example:Google

Now, when you hover your mouse over the link, a title will appear.

URLs

Type in an URL in <angle brackets> and it will automatically turn into links.

For example: <http://www.google.com>

Lists

Note: For the purposes of the following example, the leading spaces are shown with asterisks, " * " However, when adding listed items in your comments, please use a "space" instead of an asterisk.

Ordered lists

To create a list of ordered items, use ascending numbers prior to your comment. (Image below)

For example:

1. Help my team assess their performance.
2. Complete my performance review.
***1. Submit my self-assessment.
3. Train the new hires on our tool.
***1. Go over on-boarding agenda.

Unordered lists

To create a list of unordered items, use a minus or plus symbol prior to your comment. (Image below)

For example:

+ Help my team assess their performance.

Images

Emojis

You can place emojis in your feedback. The easiest way would be to do so from your mobile device using your emoji keyboard. However, it can also be done on the web. 😄 👍 🎉 ❤️

Reference-style

Type in the following text and insert the link a PNG image you want to use:

Format: !Alt Text

Example:

 ![John Smith Logo](http://example.com/images/logo.png)

To render an image you will need the full image address. We recommend including the full URL, including http/https, which would include the domain name.
