You will have different access to Goals and OKRs depending on your role within Impraise and the type of goal or objective. In this article, we will go over the different levels per role so that you can better understand what you can and can't do.
There are three different access levels for Goals and OKRs. Each access level has its own visibility and editing rights.
Visibility
Visibility rights are the ability to view the goal or objective in Impraise, either on an individual's People page or on the Goals and OKRs overview (team or organization objectives only).
If a goal or objective is visible to someone, they can see the details, description, milestones or key-results, notes, and the activity log.
Editing
Editing rights are the ability to edit a goal or OKR within Impraise. This includes the following actions:
- create a goal or an objective;
- update a goal or an objective;
- delete a goal or objective;
- close or reopen a goal or objective;
- complete a goal, end an objective;
- link an objective to a Team or Organization objective or key-result;
- create and edit milestones or key results;
- create and edit notes;
- and add or remove contributors.
Access Levels
Full Access
Viewing: You can view the goal or objective
Editing: You have full editing rights
Restricted Access
Viewing: You can view the goal or objective
Editing: Varies depending on the type of goal or objective and the type of user viewing it
No Access
Viewing: You cannot view the goal or objective
Editing: You cannot edit the goal or objective
Access Levels per role within Impraise
Admin
If you are an admin within Impraise, you have the following access levels for Goals and OKRs:

Manager
If you are a manager within Impraise, you have the following access levels for Goals and OKRs:

Note: managers are treated as peers (i.e. employees) to everyone who's not their direct report, so they only have viewing rights for public goals or objectives.
Employee
If you are an employee within Impraise, you have the following access levels for Goals and OKRs:

Contributors or Observers
Contributors and observers have restricted access to the goals and objectives that they have been added to.
Contributors
Contributors can be added to both personal development goals and business objectives. They have full viewing rights and can complete/uncomplete milestones or key results, create notes, and update the status of a goal or objective.
Observers
Observers can only be added to personal development goals. They have restricted access, which means they only have viewing rights.
