Once you've set up a goal or an objective, you can edit, add notes, update the status and track changes.
Using milestones or key results to track progress towards goals or objectives
Key Results are a set of metrics that measure your progress towards your objective. If you’d like to know how to set key results in Impraise, please see this help article.
The progress of a goal or objective is measured as a percentage. This percentage is calculated based on the progress you’ve made on each key result. Updating any key result is automatically reflected in the progress bar of your goal or objective. Key results that are measured by ‘task completion’ can be marked as completed and will be measured as 100% completed. Key results with a #, $, or % metric will show as a percentage based on the progress you’ve made towards reaching your set target. Updating your key results anytime you’ve made progress ensures you can identify risks early. Impraise supports attainment above 100% so you can keep updating your progress, even when you have exceeded your initial set target.
Updating your milestones and key results
To update your milestones and key results:
From the Goals and OKRs page, navigate to the goal or objective you’d like to update
Navigate to the milestone or key result and click on the 3-dot menu icon on the right side
Now you can update your milestone or key result and click ‘save’
You will see the update of your milestone or key result reflected on the left side of your milestone or key result and in the overall progress bar of your goal or objective.
Updating your status
Status is a lightweight method of indicating your progress towards achieving your goals or objectives.
Each goal or objective and each separate key result has a Red Amber Green (RAG) status: on-track, at risk, off-track. The default of this status is on-track. You can update the status of your goal or objective and key result at any time.
To update the status of the goal or objective, you can click on the dropdown menu below the progress bar. To update the key result status, you can click on the 3-dot menu icon to the right of the key result.
Any status update will directly be reflected in the overview of the goal or objective. When you choose to add notes to the status update, these notes are automatically logged in the notes section of the goal or objective. If the goal or objective is linked to a team or organization objective, the status will also show in the organization Goals and OKRs overview.
Owners and contributors to goals or objectives can add notes and comments in the notes section. When a note is added by a goal or objective owner, the manager of the goal or objective owner will be notified.
Using the Attainment Scale for business objectives
Upon ending an objective, an attainment scale appears where you can reflect on the outcome. You can select any of the following outcomes: much more than expected, more than expected, expected outcome, less than expected, or much less than expected. There’s an optional possibility to elaborate on why you reached this outcome in the text field. The notes you add in this text field are automatically logged in the notes section of the objective.
Consulting the activity log
On the tab next to your Key Results, you will find the activity log, which tracks the following changes:
Ending, closing or reopening a goal or objective
Adding, editing or updating a key result
Editing the goal or objective title, privacy settings, description or deadline
Changes to the goal or objective or key result status
Notes left on the goal or objective
The activity log and can be viewed by anyone who has access to the goal or objective.
Adding goals or objectives as a topic to your 1:1 agenda
You can add goals or objectives as a topic to 1:1 agendas to realign, discuss progress, and get back on track. Both managers and direct reports have the ability to add goals or objectives as 1:1 agenda topics to their 1:1 relationship. To do so, navigate to the goal or objective you’d like to discuss and click on ‘Add as a topic to discuss’ on the right side of the page.
